Type Q, Defibrillator Capacitors for AEDs and Professional Use

Designed specifically for today’s quick response defibrillators, the Q Series meets the reliability demands of Class III medical devices. Used extensively in professional-grade and automated external defibrillators (AEDs), the series offers designers the highest in-class energy density and broadest range of packaging options. Q Series capacitors are designed for use in monophasic and bi-phasic defibrillators with energy densities as high as 2 J/cc.

Some designs can deliver in excess of 500 joules when fully charged. Voltage ratings range from 800 Vdc to 6,000 Vdc with capacitance values covering the range from 32 to 500 μF.

Standard packages include oil-filled metal cases or epoxy-filled plastic cases, both available in either round or oval configurations. A multitude of terminations are available ranging from quick-connect blades to insulated wire leads. We also work with our customers to integrate capacitor windings into a custom molded package to achieve the smallest possible profile and highest energy density for the end-device.

Over the past 20 years our engineers have advanced the metallized film capacitor technology, processing and testing to help our customers achieve the smallest and most reliable designs. With the capability of withstanding 40,000 charge/discharge cycles (depending on part and application), Q Series capacitors are designed for long-term reliable service where it matters the most.

  • Type QAS, Arc Suppressor/Snubber Network
    Released Aug, 2024

    Type QAS, Arc Suppressor/Snubber Network

Type QAS will extend the operating life of electronic and electro-mechanical devices by reducing and/or eliminating the electrical arcing, noise, and EMF. These electrical conditions often cause early failures in relays, switch contacts, and solid-state components such as SCRs and TRIACs.

  • 3 CELL DSF & DGH
    Released Mar, 2024

    3 CELL DSF & DGH

Three-cell devices offer greater energy potential and power output than single or dual-cell parts in standard PCB layouts

3-cell DSF & DGH capacitors provide very fast power discharge that cannot be matched by conventional capacitors or batteries. That large capacity makes it possible to support brief power interruptions, supplement batteries, or even be used in place of batteries in many applications.

  • TYPE MXT, X2, EMI/RFI Suppression Capacitors, Harsh Environment
    Released Nov, 2023

TYPE MXT, X2, EMI/RFI Suppression Capacitors, Harsh Environment

Type MXT Series Metallized Polypropylene Film Capacitor, designed to suppress conducted electromagnetic/radio frequency interference (EMI/RFI) at a circuit’s power input. These capacitors are perfect for use in harsh environments having met the demanding 85/85 THB (Temperature, Humidity, Bias) test requirements. Class X2 capacitors, like the MXT, are typically connected across the AC input to prevent interference from spreading through power lines or other devices on the same circuit.
